 Eddie Olczyk previously battled cancer, and word has it that he is currently battling another ailment. So, is this simply another rumour, or is the former hockey player suffering from another illness?

Eddie Olczyk played centre for the Chicago Blackhawks, Toronto Maple Leafs, Winnipeg Jets, New York Rangers, Los Angeles Kings, and Pittsburgh Penguins in the National Hockey League for 16 seasons.

He was a star on the Illinois midget AAA squad while growing up in Niles and Palos Heights, Illinois (Team Illinois). His team defeated a Detroit Compuware team to win the national championship in 1982.

The legend won the Stanley Cup with the Rangers in 1994, after setting numerous amateur records and winning numerous trophies.

Aside from his past, there are a few things to verify to see if the disease report is true.

Eddie Olczyk: What Happened To Him?


Olczyk announced through the Blackhawks on August 8, 2017, that he had been diagnosed with stage three colon cancer.

However, after undergoing multiple medical procedures and chemotherapy, the physicians were able to remove 14 inches of his colon from his body, and he proclaimed that he was cancer-free in March 2018. The

Following his cancer victory, he published his autobiography, "Eddie Olczyk: Beating the Odds in Hockey and in Life," in October 2019, detailing his struggle with stage 3 colon cancer.

For the time being, however, the rumour about his illness is just that: a rumour.

Update On Illness And Health


Back in the day, the former hockey star was ailing, but now he is as healthy as a horse.

As previously stated, he was diagnosed with third-stage colon cancer and had it removed from his body after a year.

He is free of illness and in good health, as he has not revealed any new cases relating to his health.

Diana Olczyk and Eddie initially met on a plane, but there are no information about what happened after that beautiful encounter.

The pair has been married for several decades and has four children: Nick, Zandara, Tom, and Eddie.

Nick and Tom are both hockey players that play for the Colorado College Tigers and the Indy Fuel, respectively. Eddie III is also an assistant coach with the Beavers at Bemidji State. Rick, the younger brother, is also a former Brown University hockey player who now works as an assistant general manager for the Seattle Kraken.

Last but not least, Zandra is a University of Alabama student.
