On December 13, 2021, Davi's assailant was sentenced to life in prison for the 2016 murder of Phillip Finnegan. In November, a jury found him guilty of the murder.

What Happened in the Murder of David Sharkey in Dublin?


On May 17, 2009, Stephen Penrose stabbed David Sharkey to death.

The body was discovered in the car's boot by Gardai. State Pathologist Marie Cassidy performed the post mortem at James Connolly Memorial Hospital in Blanchardstown, Dublin, following the event. It revealed a major injury to the victim's hand, implying that the victim was subjected to torture rather than drugs.

Stephen fled the scene after murdering David. He was eventually apprehended by police enforcement.

The killer was judged not guilty of murder but guilty of manslaughter of David at Park View, Blackcastle, by a Central Criminal Court jury in May 2010. The defendant said that he intended to steal heroin from David, but that things went wrong and that there was a struggle that resulted in 13 stabbings.

He was sentenced to nine years in prison by Justice Carney.

What Has Happened to Stephen Penrose?


Stephen Penrose, the assassin who killed David Sharkey, is currently incarcerated.

On August 10, 2016, a jury found him guilty of the brutal murder of Phillip Finnegan. He kidnapped his companion, killed him, dismembered him, and attempted to burn his remains before dumping it in a shallow grave in Rahin Woods, Co Kildare.

The body of the missing man was discovered by a man walking his dog outside. With the fingerprint, the investigators were able to confirm the identify of the murderer. The retrieval of the criminal's skin from the burial site's soil became the most important piece of evidence.

On December 13, 2021, a jury sentenced the prisoner to life in prison for the homicide.

We do, however, know a little about his family. Six years before to his murder, his brother met the same end. During Stephen's 2010 trial, his mother, Ann, broke the heartbreaking news. Her son perished as the result of a knife wound.
