Mary Lynn Witherspoon, a schoolteacher in Charleston, South Carolina, was born in 1950 and died in 2003.

She had a relationship with Edmonds Brown III after her divorce from her husband, which terminated in 1988.

Katheryn Brown is still held at the Allendale Correctional Institution in Fairfax, South Carolina, according to her current whereabouts.

On November 10, 2003, he was committed to an outpatient mental health facility to get therapy as part of a plea deal. After a screening there, he was diagnosed with bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and gender dysphoria.

Furthermore, he demands that the South Carolina Department of Corrections pay for her gender reassignment operation. She also claimed she had nothing to do with Mary's murder.

Katheryn said, "Before she was arrested for the murder, I started hormone therapy." After Katheryn was freed from prison, she claimed Mary was a friend who welcomed her into her house.

In April 2003, Katheryn Brown was charged with burglary after Mary filed accusations against her.

She had been charged with breaking and entering. In November 2003, Katheryn Brown was sentenced to 13 years in jail for tying, rapping, and strangling Mary Lynn Witherspoon, a 53-year-old woman.

Tennent subsequently acknowledged to Mary's murder and was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. He was also charged with breaking and entering as well as having a stolen vehicle. In 2016, Tennent, who was 44 at the time, indicated interest in becoming a woman.

Brown was arrested for burglary in June 2003 after sneaking into Witherspoon's home and stealing a pair of her underwear. She chased down and killed the teacher who had dated her father for years after she was released.

Brown maintains her innocence and claims she would have fought the charges if she could have been in court wearing a Chanel skirt, Jimmy Choo heels, and cosmetics.
