Baseball: Who Is Brian DeLunas, and What Does He Do?


Brian DeLunas is the pitching coach for the Missouri Tigers and is a former professional baseball player from the United States.

For the Major League Baseball team the Seattle Mariners between 2018 and 2020, he served as their bullpen coach (MLB).

The St. Louis-area native went on to play baseball for Oakville High School and Missouri Baptist University after growing up in the area. Premier Pitching and Performance, which is situated in St. Louis, was formed by him in 2014. He also served as a coach for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation.

DeLunas was in his second season as an assistant coach at the University of Missouri. From 2007 to 2009, he volunteered as a volunteer assistant and pitching coach at the University of Missouri. In 2021, he was rehired by the state of Missouri.

Between his two stints at Mizzou, he spent four years in the Major Leagues, first with the Seattle Mariners as a bullpen coach and director of pitching development and strategies from 2018 to 2020, and then with the New York Mets as a special projects coordinator for the 2021 season, before returning to Mizzou.
