Maggie Philbin is a television personality and a radio broadcaster who has been on a variety of shows. To name a few of her credits, "Tomorrow's World," "Multi-Coloured Swap Shop," and most recently, "Bang Goes the Theory" are all among them.

She is also the president of the Institute of Engineering Designers and the co-founder and CEO of TeenTech, an organisation that promotes young people to explore careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).

Philbin was awarded the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in 2017 for her services to science, technology, and the creative industries. Her influence was recognised in 2016 when Computer Weekly Magazine named her the Most Influential Woman in UKIT, and in 2017 when TeenTech recognised her as a Digital Leader for 2016.

Maggie's broadcasting career started with a four-year stint as a co-host of the BBC's classic Saturday morning children's programme "Swap Shop," which is still shown today.

Maggie Philbin remarried her ex-husband, Keith Chegwin, in 1982, and they have two children. He was also a co-host of the BBC Kids' show Multi-Coloured 'Swap Shop,' which aired from 2005 to 2007. Although they separated in 1993, the couple remained close friends for decades.

When she started working at "Swap Shop" in 1978, they happened to meet while making a video on windsurfing. Later on, she was impressed by his zeal, vitality, and friendliness, which she found endearing.

Mr. Chegwin, on the other hand, died at the age of 60 after a “long-term battle with a deteriorating lung ailment.”
