For his work as host of the Fox NFL Thursday broadcast from New York City in 2019, Stahan was nominated for a Sports Emmy Award in the category of "Outstanding Sports Personality- Studio Analyst."

His flexibility as a host and analyst helped him earn three nominations for Sports Emmy Awards over his career.

Strahan was born in Houston, but he spent the majority of his youth in Germany, where his father, Gene, was stationed as a member of the United States Army. Michael Strahan is a father of four children who divides his time between Los Angeles and New York.
